“Wonder Woman 2” has officially found its next villain. Director Patty Jenkins confirmed on Twitter that “Saturday Night Live” alum Kristen Wiig will be playing Cheetah in the sequel to the Gal Gadot-starring superhero movie.

“So excited to confirm the most thrilling news,” Jenkins tweeted Friday morning. “Yes! It’s true! So incredibly lucky to welcome the sensationally talented Kristen Wiig to our Wonder Woman family. Can’t wait to finally work with one of my favorites. And SO excited by what we have planned. #Cheetah!!! @GalGadot.” Last month, Deadline reported that Wiig was in talks to portray the DC Comics villain.

Cheetah, who was first introduced in 1943, was later re-invented as Dr. Barbara Minerva, a British archeologist. According to Newsweek, “This former friend of Wonder Woman is corrupted by superpowers, given to her by Urzkartaga, the Plant God, while she’s on an expedition in the jungle. She’s turned into a cheetah woman, with powers that include the speed and hunting prowess of the animal she’s named for.”

The “Wonder Woman” sequel will reportedly be set in the 1980s during the Cold War. Jenkins told Entertainment Weekly that the movie will be set in the United States. “The story will take place in the U.S., which I think is right. She’s Wonder Woman. She’s got to come to America. It’s time.” While it is confirmed Gadot will be returning to the title role, other details have not yet been released. The first film smashed box office records last year, becoming the then-highest-grossing superhero origin film with totals of over $821 million.

The highly-anticipated sequel is slated to hit theaters in November 2019.
