After Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage announced what they referred to as ‘the end of an era’ tonight, letting the world know that Kari Byron, Tory Belleci, and Grant Imahara would no longer be part of the Mythbusters cast, the internet first froze in shock, then erupted in anger.
I am shocked that Kari, Tory, and Grant are no longer on #Mythbusters. Highly disappointing. Why?! @KariByron @grantimahara @ToryBelleci

dude, who made the call to eliminate @KariByron @grantimahara @ToryBelleci from @MythBusters? Possibly the worst decision in history of T.V.

The cast doesn’t seem too upset, though. While they show a normal level of mourning for a working relationship that’s been 10 years long, the three who are leaving also seem to be looking forward to the next thing.
First, here’s Adam and Jamie’s goodbye tribute:
We want to thank @KariByron @GrantImahara @ToryBelleci for their tireless work, and wish them all the best. https://t.co/pmMSqiRAH1

Now, as for the reaction from the other three:
Kari Byron tweeted most extensively about the change, sharing photos and promising that there’s another adventure ahead for her:
I am sad for an ending but there will be exciting new adventures for us.

Here is a picture of many of our crew from the Emmys. Thanks for the friends and memories. @MythBusters pic.twitter.com/IGJA4kCmHt

Grant also used the word ‘adventure’ and may have hinted at exactly what that adventure is:
Thanks @MythBusters for allowing us to teach science in a whole new way. Also, explosions. Now, on to the next adventure!

Wish… GRANTED? LOL RT @Transfan2: “@grantimahara @MythBusters Grant…one wish..KEEP MAKING ROCKIN’ ROBOTS”
— Grant Imahara (@grantimahara) August 22, 2014
Tory’s only comment was a sad and ironic retweet of a viewer who asked him to please stop getting hurt on the show:
@ToryBelleci @KariByron @MythBusters dear tory please stop getting injured. sincerely, a concerned watcher

There is some speculation that, combined with his experience running the R2D2 character, and Disney’s work on the Star Wars franchise, Grant’s tweets may be a hint at what’s to come, especially combined with the crew’s special effects experience overall.
Whatever the crew do, we’ll be watching.
