Margot Kidder has died at the age of 69. The Canadian actress, who was best known for her role as Lois Lane in the original “Superman” films, passed away at her home in Montana on Sunday, according to People magazine.

Park County Attorney Bruce Becker told TMZ that “an unknown person called police to report Margot was unconscious and not breathing. Police responded and found her dead. The Livingston Police Chief says foul play is not considered a factor, but her death is now under investigation.”

In addition to starring in the 1978 “Superman” film with Christopher Reeve, Kidder also starred in “Black Christmas” and “The Amityville Horror.” The actress, who struggled with bipolar disorder, was also a mental health advocate and received the Courage in Mental Health Award in 2001.
