A new Cinderella will soon be stepping into those famous glass slippers soon. The Broadway musical Cinderella announced yesterday that Keke Palmer will be playing the role of Cinderella, which will also be her Broadway debut.

The roles of Cinderella were previously held by Laura Osnes, Carly Rae Jepsen and Paige Faure. Not only will Keke Palmer be making history but also the newest stepmother. Earlier today, the official page for Cinderella the Musical announced that Sherri Shepherd will be beginning her role as the stepmother. Some of the previous actresses to portray the stepmother were Harriet Harris and Fran Drescher.
This show puts a contemporary spin on the classic tale of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella. It is filled with magical moments, from the classic glass slippers and pumpkin to unbelievable costume changes. It also features some very catchy songs like “In My Own Little Corner,” “Ten Minutes Ago,” “Impossible” and “Do I Love You Because You’re Beautiful.” The show also keeps audiences laughing until the end, while filled with all the romantic moments from the original.
Palmer and Shepherd begin their performances on Sept. 9.
