The Hershey Company

Valentine’s Day gift giving doesn’t have to suck this year thanks to a shiny, candy-inspired line of jewelry. Jolly Rancher is celebrating the romantic holiday by giving away unique pieces of jewelry that resemble the fruity sweets.

According to the press release, the company collaborated with designers Mary Ping and Fabrice Covelli to create the jewelry line, which features necklaces, earrings, bracelets and rings that look just like candy. The collection, which uses the “rarest plastic on earth” to copy the look of the hard candy, is meant to be both sparkly and “a bit cliché.”

Erik Falck, senior brand manager of Jolly Rancher said in a statement, “Buying a gift for your Valentine sucks…Especially when Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, and, well, you forgot. While diamonds might last forever, Jolly Rancher hard candy is long-lasting, too. We’re here to rescue our loyal fans from the suckiest of situations – trying to find ‘the’ gift for a loved one only days before Valentine’s Day.” The Chicago Tribune reports that the jewelry line features all five flavors, including a blue raspberry bracelet and watermelon ring.

Those who need a unique, last-minute gift simply enter the Hershey Company’s “Valentine’s Day Sucks” sweepstakes on Twitter for a chance to win an item from the jewelry collection. Fans of the faux candy jewelry simply share their “worst V-Day gift-giving stories” from previous relationships in a tweet to @Jolly_Rancher with the #ValentinesDaySucks and #Sweepstakes hashtags. The sweepstakes are open until 4 p.m. on Feb. 13—so treat your valentine (or yourself) to something truly sweet.
