Christmas is just days away and what better way to celebrate the festive occasion than with some classic holiday songs? The popular Christmastime tunes are no doubt a great way to get into the holiday spirit—but what if these songs were given an unusual twist? As part of a hilarious hashtag game, Twitter users added hipster stereotypes to their favorite Christmas music.
#HipsterXmasSong, which became a trending hashtag in the iCanHash hashtag game Wednesday afternoon, took popular Christmas songs, such as “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” and “O Holy Night,” and added stereotypical hipster things like man buns, flannel and vinyl. The hashtag game, which generated more than 6,000 tweets, included hilarious new song titles such as “Soy to the World,” “Little Drummer Bae,” “12 Days of I Can’t Even” and “Gentrification is Coming to Town.”
