Four hundred and ninety-nine performances ago, the record-breaking musical “Hamilton” made their Broadway debut. Opening Aug. 6 at the Richard Rodgers Theatre, the show officially celebrates their 500th performance tonight.

To mark the occasion, Javier Muñoz, who is currently playing the title role, shared some behind-the-scenes photos, in addition to many memories, such as when “Hamilton” took home 11 Tony Awards. The show’s creator Lin-Manuel Miranda also commemorated the special day with a fun gif. Take a look at some of the tweets below.

“Hamilton” is “the story of America then, told by America now,” according to Miranda. The original cast members included Miranda (Alexander Hamilton), Leslie Odom, Jr. (Aaron Burr), Phillipa Soo (Eliza Schuyler Hamilton), Renee Elise Goldsberry (Angelica Schuyler), Daveed Diggs (Marquis de Lafayette/Thomas Jefferson), Anthony Ramos (John Laurens/Philip Hamilton), Christopher Jackson (George Washington), Jonathan Groff (King George III), Okieriete Onaodowan (Hercules Mulligan/James Madison) and Jasmine Cephas Jones (Peggy Schuyler).

“Hamilton’s America,” a documentary film about the making of the musical, debuts next Friday at 9 p.m. on PBS. Don’t throw away your shot to catch all the interviews, including an appearance from President Barack Obama.
