The hate group known as the Westboro Baptist Church is comprised of a very small group of people who condemn anyone who does not follow their strict interpretation of the bible. While the God Loves Gays billboard is not likely to convert any of those church members, it sure gave me a good laugh.
Westboro Baptist Church is located in Topeka, Kansas, which means members of the group are likely to drive by this billboard on a regular basis. If God’s hope was to mess with members of the hate group, he has likely succeeded.
On his Facebook page God offered the following post:
As you can see, his message, delivered to his 1.76 million fans, has received more than 23,000 likes, and nearly 5,000 post shares.
The WBC is used to being mocked, anti-protesters will show up at their gatherings, holding up signs that openly mock the groups hate-filled efforts. This billboard takes that mocking of Westboro to a whole new level, and it’s featured on their own home turf.
