Just when you thought it was safe to go back on the internet…

Here is the cat aiming to unseat none than Tarder Sauce (aka Grumpy Cat), the feline sensation that originated from a simple reedit post to now over 6 million likes on Facebook, as the angriest cat in the world.  Garfi, a persian living with his family in Turkey,  is fast becoming the latest internet sensation with his glare that appears to prophesy doom for all who fall under it’s intensity.

The menacing scowl which his owner has photographed dozens of times, was posted in an album on Flickr recently and has been viewed more than 34,000 times.  His owner, Hulya Ozkok states that “My son wanted me to open an account for photos of our cat”.  Now Garfi is receiving the kind of internet attention reserved for only the most famous and sought after of celebrities.

Having such a status does not appear to have given Garfi reluctance to show his well known stink face as he is quick to assume to role as evil mastermind dressed in a Santa suit, wearing the obligatory bunny ears, wearing a hat, or simply taking a bath in a sink or nearby bowl.

Although he certainly seems to take a lot from his owners during photography shoots, he is said to be a friendly cat in real life and plays well with others.  As long as you don’t cross him.

If Garfi, however,  is to achieve worldwide fame, he’s still got a long way to go to emulate Grumpy Cat herself. The world’s most famous sour puss has recently been given her own movie, where she’ll be voiced by Parks and Recreation star Aubrey Plaza and featuring Daniel Roebuck and Megan Charpentier.

Grumpy Cat’s Worst Christmas Ever will be a live action film about an often-overlooked cat in a pet shop who can communicate with a 12-year-old girl named Crystal.
