Emma Stone’s character Gwen Stacy died in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, but some Hollywood insiders believe her character could somehow be revived for the next installment.

Stone’s character died in  a not-so-surprising end to the last movie. Her death was the inevitable result of making way for Mary Jane Watson to finally appear in a future Spider-Man movie.

ComicBookMovie.com noted that Gwen Stacy found like after death in the comic book installment of Spider-Man.

“Within the fictional universe, Gwen Stacy’s death has enormous repercussions. From day one we all knew that Gwen Stacy will die and be replaced by Mary Jane Watson in the Webb franchise. Well now Captain Stacy and Gwen Stacy have both died so you must be thinking that we will see Mary Jane in the next installment; well you’re wrong. Due to the successful response from Peter and Gwen’s relationship I believe that the writers will bring back Gwen Stacy. Wait what? Yes, there are many storylines in comics were we have seen Gwen Stacy return after her death; it’s comics after all.”

The biggest hurdle might not be her sudden resurrection, but rather finding time for Emma Stone to appear. The actress is just about to take over the Broadway version of Cabaret from Michelle Williams. The Broadway hit runs through February 1, 2015.

There are also rumors that Emma Stone could land a role in Ghostbusters 3. Two days ago Bill Murray placed the funny actress at the top of his female leads list.

At this time there is only a lot of speculation that Emma Stone will appear once again at Gwen Stacy in The Amazing Spider-Man 3, but given her rising fame in Hollywood, it is speculation that could quickly be confirmed.
