President Donald Trump’s words have come back to haunt him once again as he attempted to commemorate International Women’s Day on Twitter. On Wednesday morning, Trump sent two tweets about how much he personally respects women and the important role women play around the world. Trump’s insults against women, however, have proven that he believes otherwise as many social media users pointed on in response to his tweets.

His first tweet claimed that he has “tremendous respect for women,” despite a plethora of disparaging comments showing that is not, in fact, true. (No matter how many times he tries to assure people that he does). A minute later, he called on others to honor “the critical role of women here in America & around the world.” Twitter, however, was not buying Trump’s attempts at making statements in support of women and International Women’s Day given his long history of misogyny and sexist remarks.

Over the years, Trump has insulted former Huffington Post editor-in-chief Arianna Huffington, comedian Rosie O’Donnell, actress Meryl Streep, former Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina, former presidential nominee Hillary Clinton and even his own daughter Ivanka. Still, he has attempted to convince others that “nobody respects women” more than he does, despite the vulgar things he has stated. To recap, here are a just a few of the insulting things Trump has said about women over the years:

Nancy O’Dell, “Access Hollywood” co-host in leaked tape with Billy Bush

“I did try and f–k her. She was married. And I moved on her very heavily. In fact, I took her out furniture shopping…I moved on her like a bitch, but I couldn’t get there and she was married… Then all of a sudden I see her, she’s now got the big phony tits and everything. She’s totally changed her look…I’ve got to use some Tic Tacs, just in case I start kissing her. You know I’m automatically attracted to beautiful — I just start kissing them. It’s like a magnet. Just kiss. I don’t even wait. And when you’re a star, they let you do it.You can do anything.Grab them by the p—y. You can do anything.”

Megyn Kelly, former Fox News host after the Republican presidential debate

“You could see there was blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her wherever.”

Alicia Machado, Miss Universe 1996 in a post-debate interview

“She was the worst we ever had, the worst, the absolute worst, she was impossible. She gained a massive amount of weight, and it was a real problem. We had a real problem. Not only that, her attitude.”

Given his previous comments, it’s no wonder people found Trump’s tweets insincere. See how social media responded to Trump’s International Women’s Day tweets below:
