Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson took the stage of “Good Morning America” today to debut the trailer for Disney’s latest animated feature, “Moana.” “Moana” tells the story of Disney’s first Polynesian princess Moana (voiced by newcomer Auli’i Cravalho) and her quest to find legendary demigod Maui (voiced by Johnson).

The official trailer warns of “a great danger” and a legend who, with the help of shapeshifter Maui, will save their island. They embark on the waters of Oceania and according to navigator Moana, “the ocean is a friend of mine.” (A somewhat unlikely friend along her journey) As was seen in the international trailer, Moana has some pretty special powers when it comes to water so no doubt that will play a key role in the film. Fans are also given a glimpse of the spooky “Realm of Darkness.”

The trailer also previews some of the dangers Maui and Moana will encounter along their journey, including some adorably-deceptive kakamora creatures and the enemy of the sea, a molten lava monster. Other characters include Pua the pig and Hei Hei the rooster, who will act as sidekicks. The film features Nicole Scherzinger, Alan Tudyk, Jemaine Clement and Phillipa Soo.

The official poster was also revealed earlier this week and, by the looks of it, it’s shaping up to be amazing.

The film takes place in the beautiful and majestic region of the Pacific Islands. The film’s composers include Lin-Manuel Miranda, whose musical “Hamilton” won 11 Tony Awards, Mark Mancina, Grammy-winning composer, and Opetaia Foa’i. Disney legends Ron Clements and John Musker direct the film.

The film is set to be released in theatres on Nov. 23.
