The other couple to go home as part of a double elimination during “Dancing with the Stars: Athletes” is Jamie Anderson and partner Artem Chigvintsev. Johnny Damon and Emma Slater were also eliminated. Tonya Harding and Sasha Farber were also in jeopardy.

Tonight, the couple danced an elegant Viennese waltz to “Feeling Good” and scored a 19 out of 30. The judges praised her elegance, but said there were a few problems. Bruno Tonioli told Anderson she “hit a slippery patch” during one part of the routine, while Len Goodman called it “skippy.” The Olympic snowboarder couldn’t get her footing quickly enough and failed to make it to week two of the short, all-athlete season.

Chigvintsev has been a “Dancing with the Stars” pro for seven seasons. His previous partners have included actor Lea Thompson, “Brady Bunch” star Maureen McCormick, former Olympic figure skater Nancy Kerrigan and WWE wrestler Nikki Bella. He placed sixth with both Thompson and Kerrigan.

Anderson is an Olympic snowboarder. According to ABC, “Anderson is one of the top female snowboarders in the world and has won a record 15 X Games medals since she was 15 years old. Known for her snowboarding style, amplitude and strength, Jamie led the U.S. medal sweep with a gold medal at the first-ever Olympic Slopestyle competition at the 2014 Sochi Olympic Games and successfully defended her gold medal in Slopestyle at the 2018 Winter Olympics Games in PyeongChang, South Korea, in February.”

“Dancing with the Stars: Athletes” is hosted by Tom Bergeron and sports broadcaster Erin Andrews. The judging panel is composed of ballroom experts Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli. Their scores, along with America’s votes, determine who gets to stay and who is sent home as couples vie for the coveted Mirrorball trophy during the special, four-week season.

The current contestants include Olympic figure skaters Adam Rippon and Mirai Nagasu, NBA legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Notre Dame basketball player Arike Ogunbowale. The remaining athletes competing this season include Chris Mazdzer, Jennie Finch, Josh Norman and Tonya Harding.

The all-athlete edition of “Dancing with the Stars” airs every Monday night at 8 p.m. on ABC.
