Victoria Arlen and Val Chmerkovskiy dance next, performing a tango to “Look What You Made Me Do” by Taylor Swift. Just one week into the competition, Arlen says she feels very empowered while dancing.

Bruno Tonioli calls it “a tough cookie tango,” referring to Arlen as the mistress, or leading lady, of the dance. Carrie Ann Inaba praises her polished technique, while Len Goodman says he liked the drama and intensity of the “super, duper” dance. They score a 24 out of 30.

According to ABC, Arlen is a former paralympian swimmer, Paralympic gold medalist and world record holder. “At the young age of 11, the lifelong swimmer and athlete fell ill with Transverse Myelitis, a rare viral disease that left her in a four-year long coma and without use of her legs for nearly 10 years. Unbeknownst to those around her at the time, Arlen could hear the conversations going on in her hospital room while she was in the coma as doctors expressed losing hope for any sort of improvement in her condition. However, with unwavering support from her family, her health improved tremendously.” She has since become a television personality with ESPN and keynote speaker at conferences such as TEDx.
