DANCING WITH THE STARS - MARILU HENNER - The stars grace the ballroom floor for the first time on live national television with their professional partners during the two-hour season premiere of "Dancing with the Stars," which airs MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 12 (8:00-10:01 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network. After a showstopping performance tonight, Marilu Henner and Derek Hough were sent home during the ninth week of competition, falling short of the semifinals next week. It came down to them and Jana Kramer and her partner Gleb Savchenko. Henner said she has had such a blast and really created a family with all the cast and crew members.

As part of “Showstoppers Night,” Henner and Hough danced a “Jersey Boys”-inspired samba to “December, 1963 (Oh, What a Night),” which featured a very special guest appearance from Mark Ballas, who is currently playing Frankie Valli in the Broadway show and was a former pro. They scored a 36 out of 40, one of their highest scores throughout the competition. They also performed a jazz routine with Terra Jolé and Sasha Farber as part of the “Team-Up Challenge.” They both scored a 36, but it was ultimately not enough to save them from elimination.

Now in its 23rd season, “Dancing with the Stars” is hosted by Tom Bergeron and sports broadcaster Erin Andrews. The judging panel is composed of ballroom experts Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba, Julianne Hough and Bruno Tonioli. Their scores, along with America’s votes, determine who gets to stay and who is sent home each week as couples vie for the coveted Mirrorball trophy.

The remaining contestants include Olympic gymnast Laurie Hernandez with Val Chmerkovskiy, former NFL wide receiver Calvin Johnson Jr. with Lindsay Arnold, reality TV star Terra Jolé with Sasha Farber, country singer Jana Kramer with Gleb Savchenko, and IndyCar driver James Hinchcliffe with Sharna Burgess. This season’s star-studded line-up included Jake T. Austin, Rick Perry, Vanilla Ice, Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds, Amber Rose, Maureen McCormick and Ryan Lochte and Marilu Henner.

“Dancing with the Stars” airs every Monday night starting at 8 p.m. on ABC.
