JANA KRAMER

Falling just short of the coveted Mirrorball trophy are Jana Kramer and partner Gleb Savchenko. It came down to them and James Hinchcliffe and Sharna Burgess. Kramer says it was an amazing experience, acknowledging that it was their time to go home. She also praises Savchenko for being an amazing partner before taking center stage. Heading into the finale are three athletes.

Jana Kramer and Partner Gleb Savchenko Eliminated

As part of night one of the finals, Kramer and Savchenko danced a redemption style tango to Zedd’s “Stay the Night.” Their first dance scored a 35 out of 40, while their powerful and emotional freestyle earned them a 36 after their creative dance resulted in a big misstep. Throughout the competition, they have earned scores in the mid to high 30s, but very often ended up in the bottom come elimination night. They have been praised, however, for being the underdog throughout the competition as Kramer told her personal story through her dances each week.

Now in its 23rd season, “Dancing with the Stars” is hosted by Tom Bergeron and sports broadcaster Erin Andrews. The judging panel is composed of ballroom experts Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba, Julianne Hough and Bruno Tonioli. Their scores, along with America’s votes, determine who gets to stay and who is sent home each week as couples vie for the coveted Mirrorball trophy.

The remaining contestants include Olympic gymnast Laurie Hernandez with Val Chmerkovskiy, former NFL wide receiver Calvin Johnson Jr. with Lindsay Arnold and IndyCar driver James Hinchcliffe with Sharna Burgess. This season’s star-studded line-up included Jake T. Austin, Rick Perry, Vanilla Ice, Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds, Amber Rose, Maureen McCormick, Ryan Lochte, Marilu Henner, Terra Jolé and Jana Kramer.

The winner will be announced in the season 23 finale tomorrow night, which will also include performances from previous cast members and the remaining contestants’ final dance together: the 24-Hour Fusion Challenge.

Part two of the “Dancing with the Stars” finale starts tomorrow night at 9 p.m. on ABC.
