The first couple to charm the dance floor for Disney Night is Rashad Jennings and Emma Slater, dancing a foxtrot to “Evermore” by Josh Groban from the live-action “Beauty and the Beast.” They earned the highest score of the season last week, earning a 39 out of 40.

Len Goodman calls it very elegant and adds that Rashad hasn’t danced a bad dance yet. Julianne Hough says it was timeless, despite some timing issues. Bruno Tonioli says he captured the classic Disney feel— “beautiful, romantic.” Carrie Ann Inaba calls him a wild horse, adding that he knows how to draw people in. She says, however, that his movements were a bit constricted tonight. They all agree that it could have flowed a bit better. They score a 32.

According to ABC, Jennings “was one of the top NFL running backs in 2015. In that breakout 2015 season, he started every game and set career highs in carries, rushing yards, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns. He was drafted in 2009 in the seventh round by the Jacksonville Jaguars, where he spent four seasons, was signed by the Oakland Radars in 2013 for one season, and signed a four-year contract with the New York Giants in 2014. Jennings set a Big South Conference record while at Liberty with 3,633 yards, 42 touchdowns, and averaged 5.7 yards per carry.”

Now in its 24th season, “Dancing with the Stars” is hosted by Tom Bergeron and sports broadcaster Erin Andrews. The judging panel is composed of ballroom experts Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba, Julianne Hough and Bruno Tonioli. Their scores, along with America’s votes, determine who gets to stay and who is sent home each week as couples vie for the coveted Mirrorball trophy.

The current contestants include Olympic gold medalist gymnast Simone Biles with partner Sasha Farber, Fifth Harmony’s Normani Kordei with Val Chmerkovskiy and this season’s Bachelor Nick Viall with new mom Peta Murgatroyd. Other stars who will be competing include Heather Morris, Bonner Bolton, David Ross, Erika Jayne, Rashad Jennings and Nancy Kerrigan.

“Dancing with the Stars” airs every Monday night at 8 p.m. on ABC.
