Taking the ballroom floor next are Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds and Allison Holker, dancing a tango inspired by The Beatles LOVE to “Come Together.” Babyface, who has worked with Paul McCartney, sets the spotlight on him and Allison in a toned-down, simplified performance.

Babyface acknowledges that the performance got away from him and Allison praises their rehearsal. Julianne Hough praises his positivity and encourages him to come back and prove why he deserves to be there. Bruno Tonioli said it was like watching “Poltergeist” while trying to keep in line with the lights. Carrie Ann Inaba says he needs to put more energy into his moves if he returns next week. They score an 18.

The glitz and glamor of Cirque du Soleil takes over the ballroom tonight in a special performance episode. Couples will perform dances inspired by various Cirque du Soleil shows, including The Beatles LOVE, Michael Jackson ONE, PARAMOUR, “O,” Mystère, KURIOS — Cabinet of Curiosities, Zumanity, KÀ, and La Nouba. Troupe members and professional Cirque du Soleil performers, aerialists and acrobats will accompany the artistically-infused dances. Two couples will be sent home in tomorrow night’s results show, which will also include performances from DNCE, the male pros and a special number from Derek Hough.

According to ABC, “Kenny ‘Babyface’ Edmonds, the 11-time Grammy Award winner, channeled the magic of his storied career with ‘Return of the Tender Lover,’ his first solo album in seven years, which is a nod to his RIAA triple-platinum album ‘Tender Lover.’ That 1989 definitive breakthrough spun off four R&B/pop crossover hits, including the R&B No. 1’s ‘It’s No Crime’ and ‘Tender Lover,’ plus ‘Whip Appeal’ and ‘My Kinda Girl.’”

Now in its 23rd season, “Dancing with the Stars” is hosted by Tom Bergeron and sports broadcaster Erin Andrews. The judging panel is composed of ballroom experts Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba, Julianne Hough and Bruno Tonioli. Their scores, along with America’s votes, determine who gets to stay and who is sent home each week.
