JAMES HINCHCLIFFE

The next couple to take the dance floor is James Hinchcliffe and Jenna Johnson, who is again filling in for Sharna Burgess, who injured her knee in rehearsals two weeks ago. They are dancing a jazz routine to “A Brand New Day” from “The Wiz.”

Bruno Tonioli commends his versatility, while Carrie Ann Inaba says he came back with a vengeance after a slight slip-up early in the dance. Idina Menzel says she would share the stage with him, while Julianne Hough reinforces her belief that he should be on Broadway someday. They score a 36.

One couple will be eliminated tonight, as five couples near the semifinals.

Currently in his sixth racing season and second for Schmidt Peterson Motorsports, the affable Canadian has four Indy car wins, 10 podiums and one pole position to date. This season’s star-studded line-up includes Olympic gymnast Laurie Hernandez with Val Chmerkovskiy, actress Marilu Henner with Derek Hough, former NFL wide receiver Calvin Johnson Jr. with Lindsay Arnold, reality TV star Terra Jolé with Sasha Farber, country singer Jana Kramer with Gleb Savchenko, and IndyCar driver James Hinchcliffe with Sharna Burgess.
