The final couple to dance in the first round is Heather Morris and Maks Chmerkovskiy (back from his calf injury), dancing a rumba to “Waterfalls” by TLC.

Nick Carter describes Heather as “beautiful and elegant” and compliments the storyline. He mentions it was his favorite dance of the evening. Len Goodman expresses his enjoyment too, labeling it “a knockout dance.” Bruno Tonioli finds her stunning, saying she “danced like a champion.” Carrie Ann Inaba states it was Heather’s best dance yet, calling her grounded and stunning. They receive a score of 40, marking the first perfect score of the season.

Tonight, men and women compete in the “Dancing with the Stars” ballroom for Boy Bands vs Girl Groups. Couples will dance to hits from famous boy bands and girl groups like Destiny’s Child, Backstreet Boys, The Beach Boys, and The Pussycat Dolls. Dance styles include samba, rumba, tango, paso doble, salsa, and jive. Couples will also take part in the first team dances, revealing who dominates the dance floor. “Dancing with the Stars” alum and Backstreet Boys’ Nick Carter will be the guest judge. One couple will be sent home next week.

According to ABC, Morris “is both a talented actress and dancer. She is best known for her role as ‘Brittany Pierce’ on FOX’s hit series, Glee, and she also appeared in the feature filmSpring Breakers. After college, Morris was invited to join Beyoncé’s ‘I Am…Sasha Fierce’ world tour. She has appeared on How I Met Your Mother and Comedy Bang! Bang! and recently starred in the feature films Folk Hero & Funny Guy and Most Likely to Die.”

Now in its 24th season, “Dancing with the Stars” is hosted by Tom Bergeron and sports broadcaster Erin Andrews. The judging panel is composed of ballroom experts Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba, Julianne Hough and Bruno Tonioli. Their scores, along with America’s votes, determine who gets to stay and who is sent home each week as couples vie for the coveted Mirrorball trophy.

The current contestants include Olympic gold medalist gymnast Simone Biles with partner Sasha Farber, Fifth Harmony’s Normani Kordei with Val Chmerkovskiy and this season’s Bachelor Nick Viall with new mom Peta Murgatroyd. The remaining stars include Heather Morris, Bonner Bolton, David Ross, Rashad Jennings and Nancy Kerrigan.

“Dancing with the Stars” airs every Monday night at 8 p.m. on ABC.
