Singer CeeLo Green took to Twitter on Sunday night to offer his own twisted and disturbing insights into the act of Rape. Shortly after he posted some crazy definitions for the illegal activity, he deleted his Twitter account.
The tweets from The Voice judge arrived three days after he pled no contest to charges that he slipped ecstasy in a woman’s drink without her consent in 2012. The female in the case woke up in Green’s bed with no memory of what happened the night prior to the spiked drink incident. CeeLo Green’s lawyers argued that Green and the alleged female victim had consensual sex.
Green managed to avoid a sexual assault charge because of a lack of evidence. However, he was sentenced to three years probation and 45 days of community service.
Following his sentencing, Green felt the need to post the following tweets:
The rant really makes no sense at all. CeeLo Green first attempts to explain that his no contest plea was not an admission of guilt, writing, “so if I TRIED but did NOT succeed but the person said I DID then what really happened?” He then tried to explain how the conscious mind works for rape victims, “People who have really been raped REMEMBER!!!!”
After he made the claim that “it’s not rape if she’s sleeping at the time” his own fans turned on him, and shortly after that time, CeeLo deleted his Twitter account. The singer decided to go out in a blaze of stupidity, writing, “I will not allow that negative energy to loiter on my timeline.”
Right before he deleted his Twitter account CeeLo Green tweeted a strange apology:
“Let me 1st praise god for exoneration fairness & freedom! Secondly I sincerely apologize for my comments being taken so far out of context.”
“I only intended on a healthy exchange to help heal those who love me from the pain I had already caused from this. Please forgive me as it..”
“…was your support that got me thru this to begin with. I’d never condone the harm of any women. Thank you.”
For now CeeLo Green is not involved in Twitter conversations, and that’s probably for the best if his messages were going to continue matching the rant he sent out of Sunday.
