When Robin Williams suddenly took his own life, actor Billy Crystal took to Twitter. In a very succinct message the comedian wrote “No Words.” But soon, Mr. Crystal will take to the Emmy Awards stage, where he will honor his friend and former co-star with the words he has finally found.
The two Hollywood superstars co-starred in the movie Father’s Day, and they were regular visitors at HBO where they hosted Comic Relief together on eight different occasions.
In a brief statement, Emmy producer Don Mischer said, “We felt we needed to do something powerful and memorable. Billy seemed like the perfect choice.” Mischer then added, “While we are all still coming to terms with this week’s tragic news, we are working to give Robin Williams the proper and meaningful remembrance he so well deserves.”
Here is the original tweet Billy Crystal sent out following the death of his beloved friend:
No words.

Along with their work on Father’s Day and Comic Relief, the two men also teamed up to raise money following Hurricane Katrina.
The 66th Emmy Awards are hosted by Seth Meyers. The awards show will air live on August 25.
