“Billion Dollar Buyer” is back! To kick off the season three premiere, Tilman Fertitta meets with Cary Williams of Too Pretty.
Too Pretty is an athleisure apparel line with a mission of empowerment. According to their website, the brand “was created out of [Williams’] experience in a male dominated sport: Boxing. As a fighter I was told often that I was Too Pretty to be a boxer.” She launched the female empowerment-centered clothing line to spread the #nevertoopretty message through tops, bottoms and accessories. Some of the messages include “Embrace Your Different” and “Face Your Fears.”
Fertitta gets right into the ring and thinks Williams’ story is unique. He finds her message very inspiring and likes the clothing. All of their sales are online but Fertitta is worried that she pulled out of a retail deal because she believed they weren’t doing enough to spread her message. The product, however, was selling and he wonders why she didn’t just stick it out.
He likes the variety of the clothing, but worries that the designs aren’t consistent. This year, they are projected to do $50,000 in sales. He challenges Williams and her boyfriend to design three cohesive sets, which will be tested at their next meeting. At the Landry’s headquarters, the duo presents the team with the updated designs.

Fertitta is disappointed that Williams used signage to tell the story instead of the clothing itself and he still doesn’t see a cohesive set. Several Landry’s executives say they like the style overall, but think that the logo is too big and find some of the colors to be a bit “drab.” Fertitta then encourages Williams to learn from the criticism.
On deal day, Fertitta admits that he wasn’t all that impressed the last time they met. He likes the new tag, though, which features Williams’ picture and her personal story. He also appreciates the new cohesive designs and updated logo and says he wouldn’t change a thing. Fertitta offers to buy $20,000 worth of clothing and extends a mentorship to help the company grow.

The athletic clothes look drab, not feeling motivated working out in something like that. Burpees& pushups are hard enough. #BillionDollarBuyer

Even though we ARE tough AND strong, we still do like a bit pretty! There can be a balance! #BillionDollarBuyer

According to CNBC, the reality television show “introduces promising companies across the country to one of America’s most successful businessmen: billionaire hospitality mogul Tilman Fertitta, Chairman, CEO, and sole shareholder of Landry’s, Inc.” Featured entrepreneurs present their small business to Fertitta in the hopes that he will place a large purchase order. But before they make their pitch, they must prove to the hospitality mogul that their product is worth it through challenges and customer feedback.
