Amanda Bynes was arrested yesterday in California for allegedly driving under the influence of a controlled substance, and after being held in custody she was released on $15,000 bail.

The 28-year-old former actress, best known for her past Nickelodeon children’s shows and the movies What a Girl Wants, Hairspray, Easy A,and most notably She’s the Man, is still on probation from a DUI in 2012 where she allegedly hit a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s cruiser. She avoided jail time for that misdemeanor by completing inpatient treatment and agreeing to see a counselor weekly. Her probation period was sentenced for three years.

According to the California Highway Patrol, when Bynes went through a red light around 3 a.m. on Sunday, she then proceeded to stop in the middle of the intersection. The police pulled her over and gave her various sobriety tests which she could not complete.

The police department’s release claimed she was cooperative but appeared disheveled when she was taken into custody.

CHP spokesman Leland Tang told the New York Daily News that police are waiting for the toxicology tests, which could take 30 to 60 days, to determine what substance she had taken when the incident occurred.

Her upcoming court date is scheduled for Oct. 23.

After a series of legal problems, health issues, and outlandish behavior these past couple of years, Bynes appeared like she was heading back on track with her life. When she got out of rehab she deleted the infamous tweets she sent out last year, which included an inappropriate message about Drake and nude photos. She had regained her driver’s license and was living with her parents while she took classes at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. Her mother told the New York Daily News that Bynes was making great progress.

Many of her fans hopes she overcomes this setback and continues with her previous progress.
