One of the best ways of understanding precisely how your enterprise social network is being used is to visualize the activity using a social graph. This two part series looks at ways of presenting the activity and connections in your social network to illustrate where it is working well, and where further work is required.
Part one looks at the basic principles of social graphs including the definitions of “nodes” and “edges”. In part two, these techniques are applied to larger networks and the role of different network layouts is discussed, such as plotting network members based on their geographical position.
