A couple of weeks ago, I was working on an email campaign to follow up on my client’s sales effort, but I ran into trouble setting up an integration tool on my computer. I remembered that a sales rep on my client’s team was pretty good with tech and had helped out before, so I asked him for assistance. While I was on a web conference using a free program I had downloaded, I wasn’t surprised when my colleague took control of my screen and guided me through each step. In just 5 minutes, he had shown me how to set everything up perfectly!
After our chat, I realized how much of the technology we used I had overlooked. Not only was I about to significantly boost my daily productivity, but I was collaborating with a coworker who was halfway across the country as if he were right next to me in my cubicle. This made me think: What other tech changes have had the greatest effect on how we communicate and work in sales? I spoke with some of our experienced salespeople to find out which sales tech changes they believe have had the biggest impact over the last ten years.
