I seriously can’t wrap my head around this. The last implied valuation we saw for Twitter was around $10 bn – about six months ago. Now, the latest implied valuation for Pinterest is out, and it’s downright absurd. The photo-sharing company, which isn’t even two years old, now commands an eye-popping valuation of $7.7 bn. And this is ostensibly with virtually no revenue. So, how did this number even happen? The method used on Forbes.com didn’t make sense to me; maybe it will to you.
