Twitter Facebook LinkedIn Flipboard 0 Meet HelloSociety Pinterest Influencer Adela Keen from London, UK. She’s originally from Prague, Czech Republic but has lived in London for nearly 15 years. She trained as a product designer, worked as a retail architect, and now teaches yoga. She lives with her rescue kitty Poppy and shares that her life at the moment mostly revolves around yoga, travel, and photography. Adela is the blogger behind Serendipity Loves. When Adela’s not doing her daily yoga or pinning she can be found taking photos wherever she is. “…mainly with my iPhone but occasionally use my trusted Lumix LX7.” She’s always trying to catch up with friends over a cup of coffee or dinner and loves some ‘me time’ snuggled up at home. Her passion for healthy living, yoga, nature, beauty, and design has earned her over 2.7 million Pinterest followers! When did you start using Pinterest and what inspired you to make an account? I think it was in 2011 when you still needed to get invited to join. I am a visual person, I come from a design background and I always struggled to keep my inspiration material clearly and well organised… Pinterest was the perfect solution! Why do you like Pinterest? It’s a seemingly infinite well of visual inspiration where I can be both surprised and also easily find and access specifically what I am looking for. You have gained over 2.7M Pinterest followers! That is so awesome! What makes your Pinterest unique? I know, right! I am still amazed by the size of my following… I can only assume that it’s my own unique blend and sense of aesthetics that makes my Pinterest what it is. It comes from the heart, I don’t think about it much. Poppy Peeking Are you from London, England originally? What do you like about it there? I was born and raised in Prague, Czech Republic. I moved to London nearly 15 years ago and never looked back. It’s my home now. I love everything about it: its creativity, diversity, quirkiness. The yoga scene. The culture scene. The music scene. The parks. The people. Did you know that roughly half the population of London are immigrants? It truly is a melting pot, always fresh and a little edgy. What are your favorite places you’ve traveled to? When did you go? Travelling is one of my greatest passions, I’m a nomad at heart. I’ve always been drawn to South East Asia and the last place I visited there was Burma (Myanmar) in 2012. It was extremely exotic, I had no phone signal for the whole of 4 weeks! I loved how the Burmese had a sort of childlike innocence and purity about them, still un-jaded by the tourist industry unlike elsewhere in the region. I also love going to the mountains in winter to ski and to the sea in summer. The mountains and the sea are my church. The Alps What are your favorite Pinterest boards to pin onto and why? Style, hands down. I’m in the ‘less is more’ camp and I am always striving to refine and perfect my capsule wardrobe. And Words. I’m a sucker for inspirational quotes. Your texture + pattern board is awesome! We also love your ALIVENESS board. Tell us more about these boards and why you made them! ‘texture + pattern’ is all about the beauty in the detail, it’s pure eye candy for me. ‘ALIVENESS’ started off as ‘JOY’ but I changed the name a few weeks ago when I decided that my word for 2015 was going to be aliveness. They are interchangeable really. This board is all about what makes my soul dance, what makes me feel alive in the purest and joyful sense sense of the word. What is your Pinterest style? I stick with my instinct and what feels true to me. I pin what catches my eye or tickles my soul in some way. Aesthetically, I favour simplicity: monochrome colours and soft tones, geometry and organic patterns, subtle forms and the occasional burst of bright colour and a bit of sparkle. Tell us more about your passions and interests! Apart from what I already mentioned – yoga, travel, skiing, photography – I’m a big Parks and Rec fan. I am also completely obsessed with candles. The natural, sustainable, chemical-free and lovely smelling kind. So much so that I have created my own candle called ‘feed your soul’ which will be on sale soon from my website. Adela’s ‘Feed Your Soul’ Candle. What are your plans and hopes for the future? My plans are simple: Do whatever it takes to feel ALIVE each and every day. I have a hunch that I might follow a new direction this year but it’s all so fresh I don’t want to say too much. There will definitely still be a lot of yoga, I will travel and I will take photos along the way! Connect with Adela!
