We know a lot of you out there have set-in-place marketing plans that don’t need a whole lot of tinkering. However, we always like to think that there is room for some improvement. We want to give you a couple of tips that can help you effectively and inexpensively give your marketing efforts the facelift that it may be looking for. Stay tuned to hear some “Why didn’t I think of that?!” ideas.
Landing Pages
If you’re like most modern companies out there, you’ve probably already paid a professional to help build your website. To remain fresh, however, websites require maintenance from time to time. Now wait, before you start freaking out about budgeting this in, it doesn’t have to be expensive. David Ronick, co-founder of Upstart Bootcamp, suggests instead, to experiment with inexpensive landing pages that test various offers and advertisements for items offered on your website. He believes this is an effective method due to the large amount of people now being referred to websites through blogs, social media posts, etc. These landing pages will create an easy way to link others to your website and drive more traffic. To coincide with these landing pages, you will want to make sure to alter your site so that it’s easy to read and access for anyone browsing- including those visiting from their phones.
Spread Knowledge and Advice
When thinking of a good, reputable brand, what are some characteristics that you think of? We are sure that it’s not too long before “knowledgeable” or “helpful” comes up. One of the easiest, least expensive AND most effective ways to market your brand and improve its image is through providing advice to customers and potential customers. An example of this would be this very blog post. Many companies have begun to realize the importance of providing a blog for consumers. Not only does it provide useful and relevant information that can help someone in need, it also establishes your authority and shows consumers that you really know what you’re talking about. Blogs aren’t the only way that you can display your expertise. By interacting with consumers on social media, such as Facebook and Twitter, you can find out what their wants and needs are and provide an expert’s opinion on an individual basis. Good, solid help will only improve the way your consumers view you and keep you on the top of their minds for the future.
Include Your Company’s Social Media Links in Your Email Signature
If your company is active on social media, this is a great way to promote. By simply providing links to whatever social media pages that your company is active on in the signature of your email, everyone that you interact with through email has the potential to see and learn more about your company without you being pushy or obnoxious. Given the large interest in social media in this day and age, many are likely to click through due to curiosity. Once they’re on your Twitter, Facebook, etc., they will be able to see whatever useful information that your company relates through these platforms (hint: have a strong social media presence!).
Test, Track, Measure and Evaluate These Changes
While slowly implementing these small changes into your marketing plan, make sure to measure the results that you are seeing in order to determine whether they are working and to see if they are so successful that you would like to take them a step further. Marketing efforts have different results for every company, so it’s important to see if these efforts actually fit in with your marketing plan so that you are not wasting any time or money. By using Google Analytics, you will be able to see exactly where your website’s success is coming from. Not seeing huge results from the blog? Perhaps it’s time for extra focus on it, or perhaps it’s time to focus elsewhere. Seeing a steady rise in website traffic from the landing pages? Maybe you should invest more time and money there. Measuring your marketing results is imperative and will help you see ways that you can improve and where you’re doing well, in turn bringing your marketing game to the next level. This should be an ongoing process- like we said, there’s always room for improvement!
We really meant it when we told you that improving your online marketing efforts doesn’t have to be complicated! You’d be surprised at the amount of success that you can see from such small changes.
