Black-Opium-YSL

The French luxury fashion house Yves Saint Laurent has partnered with POOLs, a community-based metaverse platform and marketplace for creator tokens, to launch a new perfume-inspired non-fungible token collection.

In a January 24 site publication, Yves Saint Laurent confirmed launching a new set of NFTs in partnership with Web3 platform POOLS. The NFT set dubbed “YSL Beauty Night Blocks” aims to celebrate the legacy of its famous Block Opium perfume.

Yves Saint Laurent Launch Perfume-Inspired NFTs

Founded in 1962, Yves Saint Laurent is a luxurious beauty house renowned for producing premium perfumes, leather accessories, and footwear. The French fashion house is a subsidiary of the luxury cosmetics and fragrance brand of the L’Oréal Group.

According to the announcement, the new Yves Saint Laurent NFT collection is a two-part NFT campaign titled “Black Opium: The Night Is Ours” to celebrate the legacy of its best-selling Black Opium line of fragrances.

The new YSL Beauty Night Blocks NFT collection will feature a limited edition of 2,014, a tribute to the year the beauty firm created Black Opium fragrances. The drop will include 2,000 original NFTs and 14 ultra-rare NFTs.

The new NFT collection will be available to crypto fans from the United States, Australia, the United Kingdom, and France, who will purchase a fragrance from the Black Opium line in-store. Customers need to install the YSL Beauty wallet app to claim the token.

The YSL Beauty Night Blocks NFTs will allow holders to access exclusive content, including gift vouchers and 90ml perfumes. It will also give community members early access to the second chapter of “Black Opium: The Night Is Ours” NFT drops on March 1.

Yves Saint Laurent NFT Push

The newly launched Yves Saint Laurent’s “YSL Beauty Night Blocks” NFT collection is not its first NFT project. In June 2022, Yves Saint Laurent Beauty unleashed a similar NFT collection called “YSL Beauty Golden Block.”

The NFT collection featured a fixed set of 10,000 NFTs that gave users access to utilities and drops. Last week, the luxury fashion house filed a trademark application with United States Patents and Trademark Office related to NFT and Metaverse.

According to data submitted, Yves Saint Laurent anticipates launching tokenized virtual beauty, body, skin-care, and hair-care products in Metaverse. In the meantime, the firm will donate proceeds from NFT sales to non-profit organizations.
