The luxury sportswear brand Nike, via its digital assets incubation studio RTFKT, has teamed up with Division Street, a digital protocol helping the University of Oregon student-athletes build their unique brand, to launch a new AR helmet NFT collection.
Nike Teams Division Street To Launch New NFTs
The top sports apparel brand Nike’s RTFKT studio announced its new partnership with Division Street earlier this week. Under the new integration, the joint team has launched a new limited edition AR helmet NFTs.
AR helmet NFT collection will feature a fixed set of 291 digital collectible AR helmets. The NFT collection will include ten digitally signed Phil Night AR helmets. Phil Night is the co-founder and chairman of Nike.
The AR helmet NFT began minting on December 21, starting from 2:30 PM EST, allowing more than 500 winners from the waitlist to participate in the auction. The NFT auction is available for RTFKT Clone X and Flying Formation NFT holders.
AR Helmet NFTs Overview
The new NFTs will give holders future NFT-gated access to RTFKT.com, where they can download 3D wearable files of the helmet for digital wearability. The NFT collection will allow holders to get limited licenses to the creative content associated with the helmet.
Moreover, the digital collectibles will allow collectors to forge 1/291 physical Oregon football jerseys exclusively designed by Todd van Horne, who has been designing Oregon football uniforms for the past 20 years.
Nike and Division Street’s NFT project aimed to support the University of Oregon student-athletes. The AR helmet NFT collection will allow athletes to seamlessly commercialize their Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL).
In that context, Division Street will use all the proceeds and royalties from the sale of the AR helmet NFT collection to advance its goal of supporting the student-athletes at the University of Oregon.
Meanwhile, it’s worth noting that Nike stock reacted sharply On December 21 after minting went live. Nike Inc’s (NKE.N) shares soared nearly 15% to roughly $118. At the time of publishing, Nike stocks consolidate around $115.
