Ice Hockey behemoth the Manchester Storm has announced ready plans to unleash a new non-fungible token (NFT) collection. The Manchester Storm, a close affiliate of the famous English football team Manchester United, has partnered with Locker Token for its NFT project.
In a September 20 press release, the Manchester Storm confirmed its successful partnership with Locker Token to launch new NFTs. The Manchester Storm anticipates launching its NFT collection this week, starting September 22.
Manchester Storm Hockey NFTs
The highly anticipated NFTs will give ice hockey enthusiasts more ownership and a closer connection to players while showcasing game highlights through blockchain technology. The NFT project will feature tokenized players, trading cards, and live happenings events such as goal shooting and player skirmishes.
The Manchester Storm will create its first batch of NFTs based on its home game with Guildford Flames on September 21 and allow ice hockey fans to mint NFTs during this live event. Users will use ETH to purchase NFTs.
While commenting about the new partnership, Liam Hesketh, the sponsorship and marketing consultant at Manchester Storm, remarked:
“We are very excited to be the first Elite League team to launch our NFT collection with Locker Token. The sports industry is rapidly changing, and with web 3.0 coming soon, we are happy to keep pushing our off-ice innovations to attract more fans.”
Locker Token To Integrate More Teams
The Locker Token has revealed to continue onboarding more teams. Last week, the NFT marketplace integrated Rögle BK to launch a new NFT collection. The Rögle BK NFT collection featured tokenized trading cards and players with different rarities encoded with NFT metadata.
Locker Token anticipates bringing more teams and sports to its roster, with the NFT marketplace expected to integrate another ice hockey team next week. The Manchester Storm is now the second team to partner with Locker Token for Hockey NFTs in a matter of weeks.
While speaking about the recent partnership, Pat Curcio, a professional hockey consultant at Locker Token, remarked:
“We’re excited to add the Manchester Storm to our team lineup. Their reputation in Ice Hockey is well-known. The Locker Token team is actively bringing on new teams almost every week, as we strive to give fans a chance to own team moments using blockchain technology.”
Before summarizing, the Manchester Storm has announced that the NFT mint will be available for all fans regardless of their expertise levels within the crypto industry. The Ice Hockey team anticipates offering its fans mainstream access to emerging technologies.
