The luxury watchmaker Hublot has partnered with Japanese digital artist Takashi Murakami to launch new non-fungible tokens. The new NFTs will feature the smiling flower, which has become Murakami’s icon in the world of art.
Hublot Teams Murakami To Launch New NFTs
The Swiss luxury watch manufacturer announced the launching of its new NFT collection in partnership with renowned Japanese digital artist Takashi Murakami on Friday during an exclusive private event at Glass House in New York.
Hublot first announced its initial partnership with the Takashi Murakami in Jan 2021. At the time, Hublot launched the Classic Fusion Takashi Murakami All-Black watch. In December 2021 and April 2022, the luxury watchmakers launched additional watch-inspired NFTs.
Under the new integration, Murakami and Hublot anticipate launching thirteen new unique NFTs, which will be influenced by 1970s Japanese video games and television and its initial Classic Fusion Takashi Murakami All Black timepieces.
During the event, Hublot and Takashi Murakami have already released one unique timepiece collection out of the thirteen NFTs titled Classic Fusion Takashi Murakami Black Ceramic Rainbow. The new collection features a limited edition of 324 NFTs.
According to the announcement, the remaining 12 timepieces’ digital collectibles will make their official debut during the highly anticipated upcoming annual Watches & Wonders Geneva exhibition in late March 2023.
The 12 new watches will be available to all investors holding one of the newly launched “Classic Fusion Takashi Murakami Black Ceramic Rainbow” or the “Classic Fusion Takashi Murakami All Black NFTs.
Other Takashi Murakami’s NFT Partnerships
In November 2021, the Japanese digital artist teamed up with RTFKT to launch the popular Clone X NFT collection. RTFKT is digital assets incubation studio from famous sports apparel brand manufacturer Nike.
