The English Premier League team, Liverpool FC, has expanded its current partnership with Sorare, the non-fungible token (NFT)–backed fantasy sports game, and now makes it an official global partner.
In a September 22 press release, the English premier league team confirmed the extension of its current partnership deal with the fantasy sports game Sorare. The fantasy sports startup will now become the official global partner of Liverpool FC.
Liverpool FC Extends Its Sorare NFT Partnership
The English professional football club inked its initial partnership deal with Sorare sports game last year. At the time, Liverpool launched digital cards of its first team player, such as Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk on the Sorare NFT platform.
Under the renewed partnership, Liverpool anticipates unleashing new unique experiences for the Reds fans and Sorare managers. Moreover, Liverpool will continue providing tokenized sports cards for all its stars.
Liverpool fans will use these cards to trade and compete in hotly-contested fantasy games exclusively on Sorare. While commenting about the new partnership with Sorare, Ben Latty, the commercial director at Liverpool FC, remarked:
“At Liverpool Football Club, we’re always striving to pioneer new technologies for our supporters, with the aim of enhancing their fan experience and making them feel as connected as possible to this club. We’re thrilled to extend our partnership with Sorare and go further in bringing exciting new initiatives to our fans.”
Meanwhile, the English premier league team hopes to use this one-of-its-kind partnership with Sorare to provide new opportunities and engage with new fans across the globe. Sorare has users in more than 185 countries globally.
Other Sorare NFT Partnerships
Earlier last week, Sorare announced its multi-year partnership with National Basketball Association (NBA) to launch a Fantasy Basketball game. Through the recent partnership with the NBA, users can create fantasy sports teams using NFT cards depicting their favorite players to earn points, prizes, and money.
Sorare’s partnership with Liverpool is the latest in a series of major partnerships, including La Liga, the Bundesliga, Serie A, and Major League Baseball. Sorare has more than two million users worldwide and over 280 partnering sports organizations.
Tamadoge is another play-to-earn game recently attracting mainstream adoption. Tamadoge recently raised $19 million from its beta token presale in eight weeks. The highly anticipated game is set to launch this next month.
