You’ve done your market research, developed and tested your product, found a wholesale distributor, and are ready to launch your product into the world. What now? Many companies make the mistake of thinking the work is all over when the product is officially launched, but that’s far from the truth. In the months leading up to the launch, you should be implementing marketing campaigns that will drum up interest about your new product. These campaigns should continue even after your product is in stores. How can you pull it off? Follow these tips:

Talk to influencers.

Did you know 80% of the Internet’s impressions are driven by just 6% of its users? This 6% is made up of influencers, and they will be vital to your product launch. Months before the launch date, you need to begin identifying powerful influencers in your industry. Begin interacting with these influencers on social media by commenting on their posts and sharing their content to your audience. After doing this for a few weeks, chances are the influencer has taken notice that you are a loyal fan, so now is the time to reach out and initiate a conversation. Ask the influencer if he or she would be interested in reviewing your product or posting about it. Make sure you emphasize the fact that it’s a new product and they will be one of the first to see it since this will make the opportunity more appealing. Partnering with influencers allows you to get the word out to a large audience that you know is interested in your industry.

Host a giveaway.

Giveaways are a great way to create buzz and increase the demand for your product. If you are launching a new product within your product line, you probably already have a large following on social media that would be interested in a giveaway. But, what if you’re a new company that is still building their digital audience? Look for websites where you can post the giveaway information for free or a small cost. There are dozens of these websites, such as, that allow you to advertise your giveaway to their followers.

Give sneak peeks.

There’s no better way to get people excited about a new product than building suspense through sneak peeks on social media. Begin with a basic announcement telling your current customers about a new product that is coming soon. Include a picture of a small portion of the product that makes it impossible for people to tell what the actual product is. This will keep customers guessing and ensure they keep coming back to your page for more information. As you get closer to the launch date, reveal more about what the product does, but only give a little at a time. Show behind the scenes videos and images of the product being made, while still making it difficult to tell what the product will look like. Finally, when you’re ready to start taking preorders, reveal the big product and promote it to your entire digital audience.
