You’ve built up your business and you’re getting customers in the door, but how do you make sure they keep coming back? No matter what type of business you’re in, you want to make sure your customers continue to come to you. After all, it’s those repeat customers that make for a thriving business. Today, we are sharing five tips to help you get your customers coming back again and again. And the good news? They’re pretty easy strategies to implement.

1. Get Their Information the First Time

To keep people coming back to your business, you need to find a way to reach them even after they’ve left. You don’t want people to forget about you. So, how do you do that? Get their information before they leave. If you have a brick and mortar business, ask your customers to fill out a card with their name and email address/physical address so you can stay in touch with them. If your business is web-based, get your visitors to sign-up for your email list. It’s best to do this during their first visit. You can even offer them some sort of incentive in exchange for their information, such as a coupon.

Before you start doing this, decide how you would like to stay in touch with your customers. Will you try email marketing? Or maybe you’d rather send them some good old-fashioned snail mail? Figure out what works best for you and your business so you’ll know exactly what kind of information you’ll need to obtain.

When you’ve built an email list or mailing list of past customers, you’ll be able to reach them again and again. This will keep your business on their mind so they’ll think of you in the future.

2. Offer Better Deals

“A recent study by Restaurant News and the NPD Group reveals there are two things that, when combined, accounted for almost 50% of the repeat customers you lose – 1) customers are ‘interested in different foods/beverages’ (26%) and 2) customers are ‘looking for better deals and promotions’ (23%).”

Even though the above statistics are specific to restaurants, you can still use it to your advantage within your own business. It should come as no surprise that many people these days are striving to save money. They’re always looking for the best deals. Give people a reason to choose your business over another by providing them with great deals from time to time.

You can use their personal information you obtained (like we mentioned above) to send out offers. You should also keep your social media platforms updated with all of your latest promotions to keep your customers in the know! Don’t lose customers because you aren’t keeping them informed!

3. Pay Attention to Their Needs

To really make sure your customers keep coming back, pay attention to their needs. What are they looking for when they come to you? And how you can provide them with that? Listen to what your customers want from you and see how you can incorporate their needs into your business strategy. TIP: One of the most important needs for customers is often convenience. If you make it easy for customers to buy from you – they will!

4. Offer Incentives for Your Best Customers

Make your customers feel appreciated. Try offering incentives to your absolute best customers. You might try sending them discount codes or creating a loyalty program. When you offer rewards to customers that keep coming back to your business, it provides them with an extra incentive to pick you over someone else.

5. Ask for Their Feedback

It doesn’t matter how long you’ve been in business or how well you think things are going, there’s always something to learn from your customers. Don’t be afraid to ask for their feedback. They may have suggestions that will help you grow your business even more. Check in with them to see how their experience was and to find out what else they’d like to see from you. Or you can even provide them with a short survey to fill out. Implement their feedback and you’ll see your customers coming back time and time again.
