Once you have your own branded tent for events, you will wonder how you ever went without. Not only will a custom tent ensure you stand out at your next trade show or outdoor event, it will help you stay cool no matter what the temperature is. Ordering a printed canopy involves a few key decisions, so we’ve put together this helpful guide to help you find the perfect tent.
1. Pick your tent frame and fabric
Tent frames are either aluminum, which is lightweight and more costly, or steel, which is heavier but less expensive. Tent fabric is either polyester or coated canvas (500-600D is most popular). Any vendor worth their weight in salt will give you fabric swatches and specs along with your price quote so you can make the right choice.
2. Choose your logo printing and placement
Screen prints are affordable, but do not show detail well and only accommodate two colors max. Digital prints are pricier, but they are the most popular option. They can display unlimited colors and are ideal to maximize your branding.
Once you’ve chosen the print method, decide how you want the logo placed. For maximum impact, you can have full color on all sides. If cost is a consideration, but you still want 4-side visibility, you can limit printing to the valance or peak only. The cheapest option is having only one valance and peak printed. This works if traffic only approaches from the front.
3. Invest in your tent
Before you buy, review the terms of the warranty. Most companies offer a 1-5 year custom tent warranty. However, some vendors will not replace your tent if it is blown away in a windstorm and sustains damage. To prevent this from happening, you’ll want to purchase tent weights that stabilize the tent.
Once you’ve decided what kind of tent is right for you, order ahead to avoid getting hit with rush charges. Tent shops usually need 7-14 days for production after the artwork is approved. If you can build in a 3 week timeline, you’ll have your tent before your event date.
