A coherent, recognizable, and memorable corporate image is a must for effective trade show booth design. Having your logo and brand name prominently and uniquely displayed increases audience awareness and reinforces your company’s identity. If you’re struggling to find ways to creatively inject brand identity into your trade show booth design check out some of these excellent how-to examples:

Abandon Old Ideas

The days of 90-degree modular exhibit walls and PVC graphic panels has passed. Top exhibit designers are now fabricating custom exhibits that require custom graphic solutions. But before you start seeing dollar signs, don’t panic and bail!

Curved logos can be re-shaped to fit on curved walls with fabric, wall-paper and/or sticker designs. Projection mapping (left) is also an extremely effective technique for covering irregular shapes and structures while likewise injecting brand identity in places that would otherwise go unused.

At the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) 2016 Adobe used this (Below) wall inserted back-lit version of its “A” logo-mark and reinforced it with a striking multi-logo background to create a custom wallpaper and projected logo within other areas in its trade show booth design. All elements that will not be missed.

Statues As A Symbol

Logos are a given but mascots are a bonus addition for working with brand identity and booth designs. If you have a mascot, primary character, product, anything at all you want to emphasize throughout multiple shows, make it known to your designer.

For example, Android brought its brand to life during an entire trade show tour when they incorporated this oversized android-robot statue in their design. This is a great way amplifying a familiar (and beloved) brand element and making it available for photo-ops and other types of audience engagement. Plus, one-time purchases like statues fulfills multiple uses. It can be easily moved around for different scenarios and design layouts, as well as be reused over the course of multiple shows.

Hanging Around

Hanging signs and trade show banners will always be your lighthouse for letting attendees know you exist. Unfortunately the standard box or round frame sign may no longer cut it. So what can you do with that old bland hanging banner?

Here, Lexmark went a similar path with booth usage of an over-sized tension fabric version of its geometric logo as a canopy and overhead artistic element to increase booth intimacy and further inject brand identity and awareness. Sans the top of the banner, every angle has been taken advantage of.

Hanging banners are a unique design element. No pun intended, “the skies the limit”. We’ve done everything from floor to ceiling banners to inflatable rotating characters. The only caveat may be show restrictions, which should (for the right trade show company) be nothing more than a “creativity speed-bump”.

In case your struggling with what may be “average” company branding remember, designs don’t have to surround your company logo or mascot. Brand attributes, features or services can be another option for expanded creativity. Never feel limited. Interpreting brand identity exists whether you see it or not and there is no better way to exploit it than at trade shows or events.
