DO I HAVE YOUR ATTENTION YET?

It is so important to consider LinkedIn a part of your “social media strategy”. Just because LinkedIn can be viewed as a different “type” of social network, it doesn’t mean the engagement or B2B opportunity is less worthy.

Have you ever said to yourself; “I don’t understand Linkedin”, or “It’s just for people looking for jobs”. I’m here to help change your mind. I’m here to share with you that LinkedIn is more than just a job seeker tool, and worth your time as a retailer looking to grow their business. LinkedIn is such a great networking tool and I have personally earnt thousands of pounds from being an “All Star” LinkedIn profile.

I read recently that a retailer ended up bringing onboard a huge corporate client after they searched for keywords specific to this retailer’s business. This retailer actually forgot they even had a LinkedIn account. I don’t want you to lose out on potential sales just like this retailer could have.

A survey conducted last year by Regalix showed that whilst 93% of social media users favor Twitter as their social media promotion platform, LinkedIn came in a close second at 91%. Incase you might be wondering; Facebook came in third with a disappointing 68%, followed by YouYube at 57%.

The study also looked at how businesses were using each social network. LinkedIn’s 91% said that they used the professional network to increase brand awareness (94%), generate leads (69%), engage with customers and prospects (67%), share updates about their business (59%), promote products (56%), increase customer acquisition (49%), increase customer loyalty (47%) and increase customer support (23%).

So if you are a brand, wholesale or retailer reading this and you’ve seen how important LinkedIn is, are you reconsidering the way you use the professional social network?

GETTING THE MOST FROM LINKEDIN

You have to be in it to win it. If you don’t have a profile, or haven’t update your profile in quite some time, this is first on your to-do list. You also need to look at completing your profile to 100%. Being an “All Star” on LinkedIn is what you want to achieve and this can’t happen until your profile is 100% complete.

How are you describing yourself, and your business on LinkedIn? Are you using the right keywords? Part of creating an “All Star” profile is understanding the right keywords to use to describe your business. You want to make sure you are clear about who your are, what you do and what you specialise in.
