The state of social media is starting to come into its own, with the true focus of network innovations beginning to show through the added value of pictures. According to ROI Research, 44% of consumers are likely to engage with a social media post featuring a photo, so it’s no surprise to see a site like Pinterest, a photo-centric social network, grow to be the 3rd most popular social network in the world, only following Facebook and Twitter.
Also out of the social networking forest comes the new kid on the block, Instagram, which now accounts for over 80 million registered users, 5 million photos uploaded daily, and photos network-wide getting 575 likes per second.
