You may have heard of a mysterious affliction called “inflammation,” which many health foods purport to reduce. But what exactly is inflammation? Where does it come from? This infographic talks about several causes, effects and remedies for chronic inflammation.
Inflammation is your body’s standard response for healing. Now normally this would sound like a good thing. It becomes a problem, however, when the body has to continuously fight off harmful stimuli, as this can lead to a weakening of the immune system over time. Chronic inflammation frequently goes unnoticed, and can affect conditions such as obesity, hay fever and other allergy symptoms. CI, as it is sometimes called, is frequently found in people with poor diets and can be aggravated by being overweight, smoking, sedentary lifestyle and more. Fortunately, there are many ways to fight off inflammation. According to Dr. Barry Sears, “Wellness is the absence of inflammation.” So whether you keep healthy by maintaining a healthy diet, supplementing your diet with different vitamins and minerals or simply staying active and keeping in good shape, you should be good! In fact, many foods are reported to reduce inflammation, including turmeric, blueberries, wild caught salmon and more.
