In case you have not noticed yet, your self-image will dictate just how happy you are. For many people, they don’t have a positive self-image of themselves and because of that they are not always happy.
There are three different types of self-image; self-image based on how you see yourself, self-image based on how others see you, and self-image based on how you think others see you. All of these are different, yet none of them will make you happy unless you have a positive self-image about yourself. This is the reason why I am adamant about exercising and looking good because I don’t ever want to question my self-image.
Now, I understand that everybody wants to look good, but the problem lies in how much time they actually devote to it. Where many people make the mistake is they tend to put off their image for other things, such as; success, family, friends, relaxation, television, and worst of all, food. When it comes to your self-image you are the only person that can change it. I am going to give you some advice on how you can change your self-image to a point where you are happier than you have ever been.
Tips To Improve Your Self-Image
Exercise Daily – As I have said many times before, you must exercise daily. Your exercise routine doesn’t have to consist of hours of cardio and lots of weight lifting; it could just be 15 minutes of moderate walking. The problem that most people have is they sit around their house and do nothing. This is a problem and that is why I recommend that you do some form of exercise once a day.
Understand What Looks Good – Has there ever been a time when you saw somebody walking down the street and you ask yourself, “What is she/he thinking”? The reason you are asking yourself this is probably because they don’t know what looks good. This is why it is very important to understand what looks good and how it can best be utilized on you. Trust me; spending a few dollars on a fashion magazine is going to be well worth it.
Tan – Did you know that tan skin looks better than extremely white skin? Most people don’t go tanning enough and that is why I suggest you do. Now, I am not saying that you need to go tanning at a tanning salon, but you do need to spend some time outside tanning. Just get some sun and I assure you that you will like the way that you look.
Try New Things – If you have stuck with a certain style for the past 5 years, then maybe it is time that you try something new. If you have always used the same cologne/perfume, then it could be time to change that as well. Just do yourself a favor and try new things.
Stay Positive – Did you know that negative thinking is one of the causes for low self-esteem? This is also the reason why some people don’t have a good self-image of themselves. What I suggest is that you stay positive and think about when you looked good last or what you will look like once you exercise, change the way you dress, and improve your overall health. I know this might be tough at first but in the end it will all be worth it.
Everybody is different and that is why I can’t give you extremely detailed tips on how to improve your self-image. What you need to keep in mind is that as you start to make small changes you will see things that you can do that will improve your self-image a lot more. It is here that you will start to take over your life, body, and mind to create a better and happier life for yourself.
