And a question arises: What does Obama mean by “evolving” views on gay marriage? Is the president afraid of God or the country’s homophobic tendencies blocking the tunnel to more presidency?

The president said Thursday at a gay community New York City fundraiser that “I believe that gay couples deserve the same legal rights as every other couple in this country.” Obama raised more than $750,000 at the event, angering many gays and their supporters. Thursday’s unprecedented event was followed by Governor Andrew Cuomo enabling gay marriage in New York.

Obama told 600 wealthy gay marriage supporters that “Ever since I entered into public life, ever since I have a memory about what my mother taught me, and my grandparents taught me, I believed that discriminating against people was wrong.” He added, “I had no choice, I was born that way, in Hawaii.”

Obama continues to use his undying loyalty to Christianity as a sort of crutch but has said that he rarely goes to church. For such a progressive, liberal kind of guy, I have to say that I am thoroughly confused. Oh, and taking a three-quarters of a million dollars from the gay community while still “evolving” sort of sounds like stealing candy from a baby. Or maybe it’s just me.
