ESPN Bet has furthered its reach across North America after opening its first retail sportsbook in Detroit.

The new betting site has opened its first sportsbook at the Hollywood Casino at Greektown in Detroit, as ESPN Bet continues to expand across the USA.

It will act as a sportsbook and a restaurant, boasting fresh betting kiosks, a variety of televisions and a high-tech video wall.

This is the opening retail location with the ESPN Bet branding and comes under the Penn Entertainment umbrella – a partnership that is set to continue during 2024.

John Drake, General Manager at Hollwood Casino at Greektown, has expressed his delight about the new opening and how customers can fully utilize the new wagering site.

He said (Per ESPN Press Release): “This is an exciting week to debut Penn’s first physical ESPN Bet sportsbook as the city of Detroit hosts the NFL Draft and its festivities.

“Bringing ESPN Bet to Hollywood Greektown combines Penn’s premier sports media and sports betting offerings to create an amazing atmosphere for fans to watch and bet on sports. To celebrate the opening, we’re thrilled to host ESPN talent and programming at our property throughout the week.”

The Vice President at ESPN Bet and ESPN Fantasy, Mike Morrison, was also thrilled with the opening in Detroit and labelled it as a ‘first-class’ betting experience.

To increase the advertisement of this new betting site, ESPN will offer podcasts, radio and ESPN 2 services from Detroit and it will also have live SportsCenter clips from the latest sports news.
