Knight Capital Group, the electronic trading firm, is joining the likes of SecondMarket and SharesPost – and GFI Group and Liquidnet and Cantor Fitzgerald. Getting together with GreenCrest Capital Management, Knight Capital is entering the private company trading market. In the deal, GreenCrest Capital will provide research to likely traders on high-profile private companies.

According to Reuters: ‘We see tremendous potential in the secondary direct market, and in speaking with our clients, know that there is great interest in the opportunities this alliance will present,” said Bill Kelly, who heads Knight’s equity capital markets group.’
