There’s something interesting in the latest Facebook IPO filing: a Timeline of the company. Why does this matter? Now that Timeline is being rolled out to all Facebook users (becoming mandatory by the end of the month), Facebook is using the concept to communicate to its potential investors. In the process, it’s showing that the introduction of this new feature really isn’t a threat to the company’s near-term future.

In the past, Facebook was generally poor at rolling out new features, and in doing so, the social media company invoked the ire of its user base. Now, the company is better, and it seems to have some reason to celebrate.
