There’s an expectation that we get more out of expensive purchases. That isn’t always the case, though. When it comes to mutual funds, fees can vary quite a bit. These management fees pay for the continual reshuffling of stocks composing the fund.

Some funds charge low fees and boast high returns. This is a major win for investors who want to maintain as much of their earnings as possible. But what can be said about funds managed in the opposite way? Sadly, there are some mutual funds that charge high fees and offer sub-par performance.

Credio wanted to find the mutual funds investors shouldn’t bother with. First, we looked at funds with 10-year ratings of just one (out of five). This indicates that a fund is the worst relative to others of the same investment style. Next, we sorted those funds by expense ratio. These funds will offer meager returns and consume much of what you do earn in fees.
