Facebook’s new “Timeline” is a complete makeover of your profile. Timeline’s layout is much wider than your current profile and includes far more visuals. It’s also important to note that Timeline lays out very well for mobile. So far we know that you will have the option to change the massive photo at the top of your profile as well as your smaller headshot.
As you make your way down the page, you’ll see all of your posts, photos and life events as they happened through time. You can choose what’s featured on your timeline. You can star your favorites to double their size or hide things altogether. You also have the option of adding important parts of your story that aren’t included on your timeline. You can also integrate apps into your timeline, for instance the music you listen to, the recipes you try, the runs you take and more.
Mark Zuckerberg used the metaphor of a conversation, in which past iterations of the Facebook profiles covered the opening of a conversation(introduction) and the next 5 minutes. Timeline aims to cover the rest of an in depth conversation in which you really learn a lot more about a person.
