Q4 2013 web and mobile revenue details

1. The company’s GAAP net income for the period was $523 million, up a huge margin from its piddling $64 million in the year-ago quarter.

2. Q4 is its first billion dollar mobile ad revenue quarter, and it made nearly as much on mobile in Q4 2013 as it did from mobile and desktop in Q4 2012.

This is a strong quarter for Facebook and clearly mobile is driving the growth for the social network. Introduction of features like mobile app install ads that help developers get their apps discovered and mobile app re-engagement ads that can get users back into apps they downloaded and forgot about have clearly made the difference. COO Sheryl Sandberg has also credited these features in the earnings call.

However, Facebook declined to provide any data to share on teens like it did in the last quarter. Nevertheless, it seems that investors have responded favourably to Facebook earning $2.59 billion in revenue.
