Facebook is making its web and mobile design seamless. After a recent update to the news feed of personal profile pages, the social networking giant has announced to bring a similar layout for the brand pages on desktop too.

Facebook adds that – “This week, we’ll begin rolling out a streamlined look for Pages on desktop that will make it easier for people to find the information they want and help Page admins find the tools they use most.”

The below screen grab gives you a hint of the latest design to be rolled out soon:

Facebook new brand page design

From a two-column display, Facebook is going for the one-column sorted display like it is for the personal profiles and mobile too. So this would mean all of your posts will appear consistently on the right hand side of your Page and in News Feed.

The left side column is for all the related information for your business such as a map, your hours of business, phone number and website URL, as well as photos and videos. The new design also gives a quick glance to admins about the week’s page insights such as ads running for the week, likes, reach and unread notifications.

With the new design all the navigation options – your activity, insights and settings stick to the top of the page making it easier to navigate.

Facebook Insights has been an area that the social network has been working on and the latest change also bring good news for the section Pages To Watch. The section that allows you to monitor your competitor pages gets some enhancement to provide more insights to the page admins.

The new design for the brand pages is going to be rolled out in the coming weeks.

The latest design upgrade to single column layout especially for the brand pages makes sense as tracking of content in the present two column layout is a pain. And with Facebook now being a mobile first company, driving a similar design on web and mobile is vital.
